Conn Rod Section c.1960

This and the next two photos in this section, seem to have been taken during a tea-break. Besides the operator seen in the centre, a smiling Tea Lady has arrived with her trolley on the right. A man and an office girl are approaching her. However, it is believed that the usual practice was for tea to be served from kiosks situated throughout the factory.
As can be seen, it was a very restricted environment and it was very noisy, with a smell of warm cutting-oil (or "mystic") and hot metal, pervading all. The stacked metal bins probably hold connecting rods being processed.
